A full year has passed since my last glorious visit to London. It’s fair to say I’m even more in love with it this time. Everything feels so layered, detailed, seeped in history and cultured. There is always something new to do or see. It’s a completely different lifestyle to South Africa and continues to provide everyday inspiration. There’s a continued sense of possibility – anything could happen and it usually does – it’s my best thing about life!
This post details my new best London spots to go when you’re next in town:
Breakfast: Berners Tavern
I worked from here this morning. Gorgeous decor for a very cosy spot. I had the tasty vegetarian breakfast pictured above and the cappuccino was one of the best of this trip!
Sunday Roast: Hawksmoor
Yorkshire pudding, crispy golden roasted potatoes, gravy, the whole shebang.
Pair your meal with a glass of red wine.
Delicious, traditional and an English must do!
The best of Paris, in London: My choice macaroon: salted caramel. The cappuccinos were excellent too.
Try something novel or controversial in SouthBank. I saw the Australian drag burlesque circus ‘Briefs’. It was laugh out loud shocking. Rude, crude and very entertaining.
Champagne: Archers Street
The waitrons sing! It’s like sitting inside a musical. I was in heaven. They even have Disney hour – pretty much a highlight of my life. The downstairs is a club after 7pm so you can dance the night away.
(However, if you’re looking for the best cocktails in London, visit the Beaumont)
Martin Morales famous Peruvian Restaurant, located in the heart of London, serves up authentic Peruvian cuisine. If you’re in the mood to tantalize your tastebuds with something fresh and different.
(Although as an alternative, I do still love Jamies Italian. Excellent quality and won’t break the bank!)
Hope you enjoy!
